Docker - Insane amount of TUNK TUNK with Docker... Configuring Docker for native, routed IPv6 with a dynamic ISP prefix evolved into a deep-dive battle against the kernels Layer 2/Layer 3 boundary assumptions. I started with a scripted "Expert" architecture: using networkd-dispatcher hooks to detect prefix changes, calculating a dedicated /64 (e.g., ...79d0::/64), and deploying ndppd to proxy Neighbor Solicitations. While outbound traffic worked perfectly, inbound return packets were silently dropped at the host's ingressdespite correct routing tables, acceptra=2, and permissive firewallslikely due to strict kernel reverse-path filtering or L2 adjacency conflicts. - Ultimately, I architected a hybrid solution: Robust NAT66 for standard containers (stability) and a dynamic Macvlan network for specific services requiring public IPs. A Python script now automates the Macvlan recreation on prefix changes, giving containers a direct Layer 2 presence on the ISP subnet without the routing headaches. To explain to you, it's not a bug that there are two dots and an arc, it's a feature. And yes, some fun at the end of Genuary has to be included.
When I made the first monthly challenges I was stressed and focus on good results. But as soon as I lifted fun to the top leader I learned much more and developed during every challenge. Last october I learned sculpting from scratch during Sculptober. So, let us smile together today that we produced awesome creations.
